Curriculum Overview

  • At the elementary school we use a modified workshop style for teaching reading and writing. We also include word work and read aloud into our daily routine to provide our students with a balanced literacy diet. For student engagement, students utilize different text choices including technology and books. Some examples of our ELA curriculum include, but are not limited to, Reader's and Writer's Workshop by Lucy Calkins, Words Their Way, Reading Mastery, Fundations and discrete trial training. Our math instruction uses a multi-modal approach to reach all student's needs using our MyMath curriculum, STMath, IXL as well as discrete trial trainings (ACE Programming). Classrooms use their problem solving skills to solve math problems, and access manipulatives to enhance understanding of skills being taught.
